Buying a new bag ?

Gorgeous up-cycled leather bag, made from a leather jacket combined with new leather ( off cuts from another project). The fold over bags are so versatile, light weight but big enough to fit everything you need. When you are next shopping for a new handbag, consider buying something made locally which will be ethically made ( avoid the transportation and carbon emissions) or look for secondhand, up-cycled, or leather goods of high quality. Don't buy cheaply made PV products that are marketing themselves as as a eco friendly leather ( pleather) as you are just buying something that will not last and which is made from petroleum based products. PV bags are not good for the planet, or your wardrobe and ruin your outfit as they scream poor quality materials and CHEAP!!( even though they can be expensive!) . If you really want to buy an investment piece that will last decades then go for a hand sewn leather bag, sewn with waxed linen thread and if possible made from one to three pieces, as the less pieces in the bag the stronger the bag will be. And when made by hand there is no electricity used in the making either. You all know that plastic bags are starting to be fazed out at the supermarket and now they say that the biodegradable and recycled shopping bags are actually worse that the plastic, and while there is so much focus on your shopping bags..perhaps its time to rethink your handbag purchases and opt for quality and durability, because if you buy a good bag it can be repaired, re sold or given to someone else, where as the PV ones will generally end up in landfill ...
